Sex toys have gotten a bad rap through the years. They have a reputation of being for only “certain kinds” of people, and many people see them as pathways to sexual hell and porn addiction. When sex toys were in movies of the past, they were always in weird predator-esque situations, which didn’t help the use of sex toys for the average Joe.
The fact is sex toys are used by all types of people, in all types of relationships, and are a fun addition to the boring sexual repertoire.
Myth 1: Sex toys are for sex addicts
Fact: Sure, there may be some sex addicts out there that enjoys sex toys, but not everyone who uses sex toys are addicts. Anyone and everyone can use sex toys, without it leading to addition or being part of an addiction.
Myth 2: Sex toys replace men
Fact: Yes, a sex toy resembles the men’s anatomy, and yes, it can take the place of a man’s penis, but it cannot replace the entire being of man. With or without a dildo or vibrator, a woman will choose to be with a man or not—and is not solely decided by using a sex toy. I mean, you can’t marry and breed with a dildo. Get real, people!
Myth 3: Sex Toys make sex robotic
Fact: mmmm, robot sex is hot! Seriously, though—Adding sex toys does not automatically turn you into C3PO and R2D2. You are still two human beings, with toys. So, children play Legos, do the Legos make the kids less real? No. Sure, the kids could play without the Legos, but Legos make their day more fun. Adding toys does not make you or sex robotic, it just adds more fun.
Before judging a situation for what it seems, it is always wise to try the situation out. If you don’t think you want to try a situation, leave it alone, but spraying un-tested opinions around is not only offensive to others, but limiting to yourself as well. Loosen up and go f*&( yourself. I mean that in a nice way. :)
